Canada is seeking offers from Offerors to provide 1 ground penetrating radar system capable of detecting rebar, metallic and non-metallic conduits, current carrying wires and electrical cables in concrete floors, walls, and other structures to Department of National Defense (DND). Bidders may request a debriefing on the results of the bid solicitation.
To further evaluate the strength and subsurface condition of the pavement section, non-destructive testing was conducted utilizing a Heavy Weight Deflectometer and Ground Penetrating Radar. This data was augmented with a geotechnical exploration conducted by coring the various runway pavement sections in several locations.
MX requires KU to perform geotechnical instrument monitoring before, during, and after construction. Additional geotechnical engineering consulting may be required to support this work including but not limited to geotechnical investigation and ground penetrating radar. Construction may be completed in 2024 or may extend into 2025.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM A SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION UTILIZING GEOPHYSICAL METHODS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ELECTROMAGNETIC (EM) SCANNING AND GROUND PENETRATING RADAR (GPR), TO PROVIDE, AT A MINIMUM, QUALITY LEVEL B DATA IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASCE 38-02 THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT LIMITS. ALL EXISTING UTILITIES, WHETHER SHOWN ON THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS OR NOT, SHALL BE LOCATED, IDENTIFIED, AND MAINTAINED.
These utility location services will be performed by a variety of electromagnetic magnetic (EM), radio frequency (RF) and ground penetrating radar (GPR) equipment to determine the approximate horizontal position of subsurface utilities and to identify the potential for utility conflicts. 8.
